Eggs and the marketplace

eggs.panasaurus.com — ready-made eggs for the Panasaurus panel, and how to import or request them.

Eggs are the recipes that tell the panel how to install and run a specific game or application — image, startup command, install script, configuration parser, all of it. Panasaurus publishes curated, ready-made eggs at the marketplace:

eggs.panasaurus.com

Every egg there is tested against Panasaurus Images and the current panel release, so you are not gambling on a three-year-old paste from a forum thread.

Importing an egg

  1. Download the .egg JSON file from the marketplace.
  2. In the panel, go to Admin → Nests and pick (or create) the nest you want it in.
  3. Choose Import, upload the file, and save.
  4. Assign it to your node's egg list if you restrict per-node availability — otherwise it is selectable immediately for new servers.

Existing Pterodactyl and Pelican eggs import unchanged: the egg format is the same one the ecosystem already shares, and any egg that references old ghcr.io/pterodactyl/yolks images still works — though swapping to the matching ghcr.io/panasaurus/images tag keeps everything on maintained bases (see Container images).

Updating eggs

Eggs are versioned JSON; re-importing an egg with the same name updates it in place. Servers pick up startup-command and variable changes on their next start, while install scripts only run again when you trigger a reinstall from the server's settings page. When an egg ships a config parser update, existing servers get it without any action on your part.

Requesting eggs

Missing a game? Two paths:

  • Ask on the Discord — egg requests and testing help live there, and popular requests tend to get built.
  • Bring your own — any valid egg JSON imports fine, so community egg collections remain a valid stopgap while you wait.

If you maintain eggs yourself, publishing them against ghcr.io/panasaurus/images tags means they work on stock Panasaurus installs with zero extra pulling configuration.
